PRESS RELEASE

The Corporate Affairs Commission, in the sustained commitment to providing registration and regulatory services adequate to the expectations of its esteemed customers while delivering value to the Nigerian economy, deployed a new Company Registration Portal (CRP) on Monday, 4th January, 2021. The new CRP is an end-to-end electronic registration solution which allows accredited customers and the general public to initiate and complete registration and post registration applications electronically and generate outputs remotely. This digital solution ensures improved access to and reduced timelines for the Commission’s services, standardization in service requirements and enhanced data integrity.

Notable features of the new CRP include the following –

  1. Integration of data submission and document upload for seamless transaction.

  2. Recognition of electronic signature.

  3. Quick Response (QR) Code on electronic certificates and other documents for instant validation.

  4. Certified extracts of updated information on registered entities after each filing.

  5. Heading of all certificates in the Nigeria Coat of Arms to promote national identity.

  6. Disclosure parameters for Persons with Significant Control (PSC) in registered corporate business entities to combat asset shielding, money laundering and terrorism financing.

  7. Protection of restricted and personal information of promoters and officers of registered entities.

The public should note that manual submission of post-incorporation applications dated not later than 31st December, 2020 shall continue alongside the electronic post-incorporation applications until 31st March, 2021. This is to ensure the stability of the new CRP and seamless transition to the fully electronic registration solution.
